Requisition Number: 96506 BASIC FUNCTION Position Overview As a network engineer within Insight’s CDCT division, your primary role will be as a Network Engineer on diverse and challenging customer projects. You will be responsible for the implementation of a wide variety of technologies What you’ll do at Insight Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot WAN and LAN connections for multiple clients Use remote monitoring tools and protocol analyzers to troubleshoot, diagnose and solve network problems, including WAPs and controllers Perform advanced, complex network analysis, identify problems and design solutions Recommend enhancements to the network that will improve the quality, performance, security, and reliability of the network Creates and maintains documentation of networks and network systems Follows project methodologies to complete assigned tasks Provides technical network expertise to others as necessary, including instructing field personnel in basic network troubleshooting and problem resolution Configures new network equipment and connections Handle day-to-day network related tickets – both break/fix and maintenance activity (health checks, upgrades, etc.) Willing to be part of on-call rotation and perform after-hours work as needed What you’ll need to join Insight Degree in Computer/Information Science, technical college, or equivalent work experience 7+ years progressive experience in networking Must have Palo Alto, Cisco, Cisco Meraki, ASA, Firepower, and F5 experience Juniper and Fortinet gear experience desired Demonstrated CCNA level technology and support experience for route/switch, security, wireless, etc. Certifications desired Must have a solid understanding and practical experience with monitoring and management of SD-WAN solutions Demonstrated understanding of network technologies and protocols Experience implementing and maintaining network technologies in a mixed vendor environment Strong ability and focus on network troubleshooting and resolution Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate and work effectively in partnership with others Very strong customer service orientation The position described above provides a summary of some the job duties required and what it would be like to work at Insight.
