Position Overview The primary responsibility of the Network Administration Specialist is to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize computer networks within the company. They install and configure network hardware and software, monitor network performance, and ensure network security. The Network Administrator Specialist must have extensive knowledge of network protocols and technologies, as well as strong problem-solving and communication skills. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Daily monitoring of Internet connection, create reports on all bandwidth usages. Provides technical support related to the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network systems, including LANs, WANs, Firewalls, and wireless networking AP’s access points. Troubleshoots enterprise routing and switching environments, virtual private networking (VPN), wireless networking, and voice communications infrastructure/systems including Voice Over IP (VoIP). Familiar with diagnostic tools to analyze and monitor the system's technical performance including, but not limited to, speed bandwidth, and capacity. Interfaces with technology peers, and support staff to coordinate activities, exchange information, and solve network issues and outages. Researches and makes recommendations on products and services related to network systems. Creates and maintains documentation -- network configuration; network diagrams, and Method of Procedures (MOP). Participates in developing network systems procedures and standards. WHAT SHOULD YOU HAVE? Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems and other related fields. Minimum of 3 years experience as a Network Administrator/ Specialist. The ability to install, configure, and maintain multi-layer switches and routers. Knowledge of Firewalls Ubiquity products (UDM pro, PFSENSE, and Fortinet). Strong knowledge of TCP/IP. Knowledge of routing and routing protocol BGP. Knowledge of protocols such as 802.1x, Spanning Tree, ARP, ICMP, and others. Strong interpersonal communication skill. Proven ability to work as part of team, also being self-directed and motivated.
