Tebow CURE Children’s Hospital Nursing Assistant in the care of patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. He/She works as a member of the nursing team that manages the care and recovery of the patients in collaboration with the medical team, who undergoes orthopedic and reconstructive surgeries. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Monitor and record the patient’s vital signs, and report any changes immediately to the nurse or physician. Measure and record the patient’s intake and output, as ordered by the physician, and report changes to medical or nursing staff. Assist nurses or physicians in the operation of medical equipment or provision of patient care. Transport patients to treatment units, testing units, operating rooms, or other areas, using wheelchairs, stretchers, or moveable beds, and turn or reposition immobilized or bedridden patients, under the direction of the nurse or physician. Apply clean dressings, slings, stockings, or support bandages, under the direction of a nurse or physician. Report observations of patient behavior, complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses on duty. Answer patient call signals or intercom systems to determine patient’s needs. Wash, groom, shave, or drape patients to prepare them for surgery, treatment, or examination. Change bed linens or make beds. Provide and assist patients in using clean bedpans and urinals as needed and collect them when not in use or before discharge for disinfection. Restock patient rooms or patient’s bedside with personal hygiene items, such as towels, washcloths, alcohol, etc. Transport specimens, laboratory items, or pharmacy items, ensuring proper documentation and delivery to authorized personnel. Collaborates with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary team members. Identifies patient care requirements by establishing rapport with patients and their families. Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families. Performs quality of care by adhering to the established plan of care and standards under the supervision of the staff nurse. Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, Adheres to infection control policies and protocols. Maintains cleanliness, orderliness, and safety inside the ward. Ensures that equipment is operational, calling for repairs and monitoring maintenance as the need arises. Assist nurses in maintaining nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level. Maintains an intentional relationship among health care teams by communicating information and participating in team problem-solving methods. Participates in and leads in-service training and team unit meetings. OTHER DUTIES Uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency in line with hospital quality programs (e.g. Safecare, DOH, etc.) requirements. Ensure a safe and secure work environment by strictly adhering to infection prevention and control protocols such as but not limited to handwashing, wearing of PPE, etc. Commit to sustainable and eco-friendly work practices by minimizing waste, optimizing resource usage, and actively participating in initiatives that promote environmental stewardship. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education Required: Vocational Diploma/Short Course Certificate, Bachelor's/College Degree in Nursing or equivalent. License/Certificate Required: NC II Certification, Health Care Services Certificate Minimum Experience Required: At least a 1-year experience as Nurse Assistant in a Hospital Setting/Nursing Home. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Fluent in local dialects such as Bisaya and Tagalog. Able to communicate well in English, verbal and written.
