Synct is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper with a background in the construction industry to join our remote team. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of the financial intricacies involved in construction projects. The ideal candidate will efficiently manage daily financial tasks, ensuring precision and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities Complete daily bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records. Enter supplier invoices only once approved for payment via Dext. Draft customer invoices weekly, ensuring they are updated to draft status for client approval. Process weekly payroll based on approved timesheets. Ensure pay runs are processed on time and in full. Process superannuation monthly using Xero. Create ABA files for supplier payments, send to the client for review, update if required, and send the final ABA file to the client for processing. Update supplier bills weekly. Monitor and manage outstanding aged receivables to ensure timely collections. Manage retentions to ensure collections are accurately tracked and processed. Complete month-end closing tasks within 8 days of the end of the month. Attach documents to every bill unless otherwise advised by the client. Perform other ad hoc bookkeeping tasks as required. Qualifications At least 2 years’ experience as a bookkeeper, preferably with exposure to the construction industry. Proficiency in Xero and Dext. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial records. Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients.
