The Tebow CURE Children’s Hospital Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting with direct patient care under the supervision of the RN or other medical professionals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight and height. Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients’ calls and requests, and reporting observations of the patient to the nurse on duty. Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records. Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures. Protects the organization’s value by keeping patient information confidential. Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies, and procedures. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Enhances nursing department and hospital reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Cross-training on other related roles such as but are not limited to: Assisting doctors in clinics both local and foreign and in the ER in procedures such as suturing, buccal flaps division, wound dressings, castings and cast removal, tenotomies, closed reduction, application of ortho shoes, etc. Keep up in maintaining a stock level of medical supplies for the area. Use of hospital systems (Bizbox, FileMaker) such as encoding, making requisitions, charges, etc. Admitting patients in Bizbox that will be countersigned by the nurse on duty. Assist in admissions such as the orientation of hospital policies and patients’ rights, and sending of patients in the ward. Assist in the referral to the ROD if the nurse on duty is doing other nursing tasks. Do initial interview questions in the triage. Helps facilitate patients for pedia clearance and other tests May be rotated in the ward as per demand. OTHER DUTIES Uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency in line with hospital quality programs (e.g. Safecare, DOH, etc.) requirements. Ensure a safe and secure work environment by strictly adhering to infection prevention and control protocols such as but not limited to handwashing, wearing of PPE, etc. Commit to sustainable and eco-friendly work practices by minimizing waste, optimizing resource usage, and actively participating in initiatives that promote environmental stewardship. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education Required: Vocational Diploma/Short Course Certificate, Bachelor's/College Degree in Nursing or equivalent. License/Certificate Required: NC II Certification, Health Care Services Certificate Minimum Experience Required: At least a 1-year experience as a Nurse Assistant in a Hospital Setting/Nursing Home. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Must be capable of working long hours Must be pleasant and interested in patiently spending time with patients Must be able to work under high-stress conditions if called for in the ER Minor health care jobs like taking temperature, pulse, and blood pressure Must be skilled in using BP Apparatus, Pulse Oximeter, Thermometer, and Glucometer Must be hardworking and dedicated to the job Must be genuinely interested in patient care Must have basic health care knowledge Must not be averse to performing fewer desirable duties.
