Job Summary: The Bookkeeper - CPA/Accountant Level is responsible for managing and overseeing the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role involves handling daily accounting operations, preparing financial statements, managing tax filings, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities: Daily Accounting Operations: Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant regulatory requirements. Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data. Reconcile discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Tax Preparation and Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the organization. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide insights and recommendations for financial planning. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support. Prepare audit schedules and address audit findings. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement. Provide management with financial insights and recommendations. Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information. Monitor and enforce compliance with internal controls. Payroll Management: Process payroll and ensure accurate calculation and timely payment of employee salaries, benefits, and taxes. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with payroll regulations. System and Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and systems. Implement best practices and efficiencies in financial operations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Accountant level- Must have previously worked for US company- QBO expert (5+ yrs)- excel expert- reporting/budgeting/forecasting experience - financial analytics experience - team player- detail oriented- CPA certified is a plus- in depth knowledge of accounting procedures and principles - experience with sales tax- QBO pro advisor cert is a plus- experience with payroll- tech savvy Powered by JazzHR
