Description:
Server Administrator proficient in managing and maintaining server infrastructure across diverse cloud platforms and operating systems. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in deploying, configuring, and optimizing servers while demonstrating expertise in multiple cloud environments. Responsibilities: Operations Management and Monitoring: Manage day-to-day operations within the Network Operations Center (NOC), ensuring adherence to operational procedures. Coordinate with teams for incident response, escalation procedures, and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs). Deploy and maintain monitoring tools for servers and cloud services to proactively identify performance issues, security threats, and anomalies. Monitor server and cloud performance metrics, analyze trends, and generate reports to identify areas for optimization and improvement. Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement corrective actions. Monitor security logs and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security standards and policies. Respond to security incidents promptly and work on preventative measures. Conduct capacity planning exercises to anticipate resource needs and optimize server and cloud infrastructure. Manage resources effectively to ensure scalability and meet changing demands. Ensure smooth functioning of server and cloud environments, overseeing deployments, configurations, and updates. Implement and enforce operational best practices and procedures for efficient NOC operations. Multi-Cloud Infrastructure Oversight: Oversee and manage the multi-cloud environment, including AWS, Azure, and VMware, ensuring seamless integration, high availability, scalability, and security and optimal performance across platforms. Implement best practices for cloud resource provisioning, monitoring, and optimization. Lead the deployment and configuration of servers, services, and instances across different cloud platforms and virtualization environments, adhering to best practices and compliance requirements. Implement automated configuration management tools and methodologies for consistency and efficiency. Installation and Configuration and Virtual Machine Management: Deploy, install, and configure VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and related components ensuring optimal performance and compatibility. Maintain and update VMware infrastructure, applying patches and upgrades as necessary. Create, configure, and manage virtual machines (VMs) within VMware environments, ensuring resource allocation and compatibility with various operating systems. Monitor and manage VM performance, addressing issues related to resource utilization and optimization. Manage and allocate compute, storage, and network resources to VMs, optimizing usage and ensuring efficient resource allocation. Implement resource pooling and load balancing for improved performance . Server and OS Administration: Implement best practices for server deployment, updates, and patch management across diverse operating systems. Administer, maintain and manage and support various operating systems including Windows Server editions, Linux distributions (such as CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat, etc.), and other specialized OS environments as required. Conduct OS installations, configurations, updates, and maintenance tasks Ensure the stability, security, and performance of servers across the NOC environment. Lead the deployment and configuration of servers and services in diverse cloud platforms and operating systems, aligning with business needs. Implement automated configuration management tools for efficiency and consistency. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor server and cloud performance metrics, conduct analysis, and execute optimizations to maintain optimal resource utilization and responsiveness. Perform capacity planning and scaling to meet changing demands. Security Implementation and Compliance: Establish and enforce robust security protocols, including access controls, encryption, and compliance measures, across server and cloud environments. Conduct regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and implement security patches and updates. Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Act as a point of contact for escalated server and cloud-related incidents, providing technical expertise for rapid resolution and minimizing downtime. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues impacting NOC operations. Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts using scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.) to automate repetitive tasks, configuration management, and deployment processes. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and training purposes. Generate regular reports on NOC performance, incident trends, security posture, and resource utilization for management review. Must-haves: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience as a Server Administrator or in a similar role. Proficiency in managing servers on various cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.). Strong knowledge of different operating systems, including Windows Server and various Linux distributions. Experience in implementing and managing virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.). Familiarity with scripting languages for automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.). Understanding of networking concepts and protocols. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, etc.) would be a plus. Nice-to-have: Cloud Platform Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or other major cloud platforms. Ability to deploy, manage, and optimize resources within these environments. Operating Systems Expertise: Strong knowledge of Windows Server editions and various Linux distributions. Ability to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot server OS environments. Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc., for automation, configuration management, and task optimization. Security Implementation: Understanding of security principles and best practices. Experience in implementing security measures, access controls, and vulnerability management within server environments. Networking Concepts: Familiarity with networking protocols, services, and concepts to ensure seamless communication between servers and network components. Virtualization Technologies: Experience in managing virtualized environments using VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies for efficient resource utilization. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot server-related issues effectively. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with teams and convey technical concepts clearly. Time Management and Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines efficiently.
