Job Summary: As a Bookkeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records for the organization. You will be responsible for recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Bookkeeper plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's financial stability and decision-making processes. Key Responsibilities: Financial Transactions: Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, into the accounting system accurately and promptly. Maintain detailed records of financial activities, ensuring completeness and accuracy of data entry. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process accounts payable invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payment to vendors. Monitor accounts receivable, generate customer invoices, and follow up on overdue payments to maintain positive cash flow. Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements with accounting records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or errors in a timely manner. Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis. Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support decision-making processes. Payroll Processing: Calculate and process employee payroll, including wages, taxes, and deductions, accurately and on time. Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and reporting requirements. Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Maintain accurate records and documentation for tax reporting purposes. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, trends, and performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Provide recommendations to management based on financial analysis and reporting. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation, reconciliations, and explanations of financial transactions. Ensure compliance with audit requirements and support audit processes as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Proven experience (2-3 years) in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management role. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
